A simple guide to arriving confidently, dressing for outdoor learning, and helping your child get the most from every ORVIT experience.
Prepare for ORVIT ↓Before you arrive
ORVIT programs take place outdoors, rain or shine. Children should arrive ready to move, explore, create, and work with the natural conditions of the day.
A little preparation makes that freedom possible. Comfortable clothing, the right footwear, water, and weather protection help children participate fully and confidently.
What to wear & bring
Bring a clearly labeled refillable water bottle every day.
Choose comfortable clothes that can handle movement, soil, grass, and the day’s weather.
Wear athletic shoes or program-appropriate cleats. Farm and garden activities require secure, closed-toe footwear.
Apply sunscreen before arrival and pack a hat or light rain layer when conditions call for it.
Arrival & dismissal
Consistent routines help children feel secure and allow the ORVIT team to focus on a welcoming, purposeful experience.
Please arrive a few minutes early so your child can check in, settle into the group, and begin on time.
Parents and guardians are welcome to stay, observe, and enjoy the ORVIT setting for the day. For children age six and younger, a parent or responsible guardian is required to remain onsite throughout the program.
Children are released only through ORVIT’s supervised dismissal process. Please notify the team in advance if another authorized adult will pick up your child.
Pack any snack specifically requested for your child’s program and share relevant allergies, medical needs, or accommodations during registration.
Label water bottles, clothing, and personal items. Bring only what the day requires so children can stay present in the experience.
Safety, supervision & weather
ORVIT experiences are supervised by a prepared team with coaching and teaching experience, relevant professional certifications, and completed background checks for team members working with children.
The team monitors weather and site conditions throughout the day. Activities may be adapted, paused, or moved to an appropriate protected area when conditions require it. If a schedule changes or families need to act, ORVIT will communicate directly with the registered parent or guardian.
Parents should include accurate emergency contacts, allergies, medical information, and any support needs during registration so the team can prepare responsibly.
